Suspension

What makes a car ride more enjoyable and delightful for its passenger? Especially, when driving across a bumpy or pot-holed road? Your car’s suspension system does that for you. The role is to keep the tyres in connection with the road, ease out the ride and give driving ability with good manipulation. Car Suspension In Control Springs make a large contribution to the work of suspension system.

They are designed to hold the car’s entire body by shrinking and expanding with the up and down force and movement of the car. Nevertheless, this movement or force may still cause uncomfortable leaping and bouncing, so this is lessened by the shock absorbers. If these are all in correct running order, travelers or passengers should not be overly affected by the bumps on the road. But if shock absorbers are becoming worn and old, when the car begins to bounce, it will bounce continuously for couple of times. If you are experiencing something like this, your car may have some problems to be fixed.

Suspension System Problems:

  • Turning your car into a corner, it leans over and bumps – This is caused by worn and old struts and shocks which affects your handling. You need to check on the wheel and see if it has leaking oil.
  • Wandering while you drive down the road – Your ball joints are worn and extremely dangerous as they can possibly break and cause you to lose control of the car.
  • Baggy or slushy driving – You need to check on the steering rack to see if needs to be replaced or just repaired.
  • Driving wheel shakes at velocity – This can be caused by poor balance in the steering wheels that will need the wheels to be re-balanced. Also, this may be caused by unevenly or excessively worn tires.
  • Lose wheel screw or bolts – This involves your wheel lugs; you must ensure it is installed tightly and properly.
  • Screeching noise when trying to park – When in low speed driving, it creates a loud screeching sound.  In this instance, you need to check your power driving/steering fluid or replace your power steering/driving belt.
  • Steering heavy, mainly while in low speed driving – This may be caused by a leakage in the power steering rack so you need to check on it and immediately replace it if needed. Another reason, you may have a fault in your power steering pump, or you have low power steering liquid which need you to add fluid as needed.

As to rounding off today’s blog, car suspension system is one of the primary structures to keep you safe while driving down the road. We depend on the suspension no matter how smooth you think the road may be. You must attend to its proper maintenance every now and then!
